Elaine Nason   back to artist's prints

photograph of the artistI am a figurative painter, working in oils and watercolour. My subject matter is chiefly concerned with the human figure, interiors and still life, in which I attempt to convey my interest in the everyday and commonplace. Composition, pattern and space are important considerations in my work. Monoprints and linocuts follow the same themes.

Biography

I was born in Walton on the Naze, Essex, and studied at Colchester School of Art from 1955 to 1959. I trained as a teachier in 1961 and have been teaching in primary schools in London and Suffolk from 1963 to 1989, with special responsibility for art. I have continued painting and exhibiting during this time.
